Ring around the rosy!

When we are swimming with Bridgie, we love to sing Motorboat and Ring-Around-the-Rosy. They absolutely love it. I could sing those songs a hundred times and they would still want more, or as Chase would say, "gain." Chase's favorite part of Ring-Around-the-Rosy is the "ashes, ashes we all fall down." He goes around singing "ashes, ashes, ashes." I caught him in the bathtub singing, so I ran to get my camera to try to catch it. The video isn't that great, but you get the idea. Please excuse my awful singing voice. Not my strong point, but Chase doesn't care :)

I had forgotten about the nose pickingin this video. He is so fascinated by those 2 little nostrils. We are working on that. He just thinks it is funny when we tell him to stop. Argh!! Hopefully, this will be a short-lived phase :)

New Toys

Since having Chase we have purchased very few toys for him. We don't have a lot of room to store them, and also we noticed that kids don't play with most of the toys they have. However, after observing Chase we noticed that he was very interested in stacking things. We thought it was time to buy him some blocks.

I went a little crazy at the store. They had the most adorable wooden toys. If anyone is on the hunt for quality, classic wooden toys, I would hight recommend Mellisa and Doug toys. They are so well-made. I bought him blocks on a pull cart, a wooden shape sorter, and a wooden peg workbench thing. He loves them. His favorite out of the three are the blocks. Daddy and Chase build very high towers using all of the blocks. Chase waits patiently for the tower to be built and then he knocks it down.

It is nice when you purchase toys that your kiddos actually play with!

Chase's Ramblings...

Chase is saying some pretty funny things lately. Here is one of our converstations from this morning.

Chase: Crying?

Me: Why were you crying?

Chase: Grumpy, Grumpy?

Me: You were crying because you were grumpy?

Chase: yeah
______________

He is now saying "thank you much" instead of just "thank you."

He is also starting to put multiple words together like "mommy sing" or "mommy hold you."

LOL Type of PIC

Abe and I LOL when we downloaded this picture from our camera. It looks so funny. He was having a great time playing with a water bottle at the Rivercats game. Good times :)

My mom thinks it resembles Chase's Great-Great Grandma Denny. She said that Grandma Denny used to laugh just like that. Funny how certain characteristics are passed down.

4th of July

We had such a fabulous 4th of July. We started off the day at my parents' house for the East Sacramento 4th of July parade. They had a firetruck, ambulance, hummer, and some classic cars. My brother, his future wife, and future step-son joined us. Tyler and Bridget had a blast riding their decorated bikes. Chase had a good time riding in the wagon. About half way through, he wanted to ride on Daddy's shoulders.

Later on in the day we met some friends and Abe's brother and his family down at the American River. The kiddos got to play and splash in the water. The current was kind of strong, so had to watch them very carefully.

After the River, we came back to our house to let the kids swim some more. We had dinner over at Ben's house, and set off some fireworks and sparklers. The kids love that. We then watched the Cal Expo fireworks from Ben's driveway. It was a blast.

Here are some pics from the parade.

Barney Reunion-June 8th

All of my dad's family headed to Los Gatos for a Barney Family Reunion. We were able to see all of cousins including my cousin Wayne and his wife Kristin from Texas. It was such a treat to catch up with all of our family. It is difficult at this point in our lives to get everyone at the same location. My grandparents to the opportunity to have a family portrait taken at Vasona Park. These are pictures that were snapped after the portrait was taken.

Happy Birthday, Uncle Ben Ben!

We could not let this day pass without paying special attention to Chase's Uncle Ben Ben's birthday. Chase is quite attached to his Uncle Ben. Chase has probably spent the most time with Ben. He asks to pray for him before he goes to bed quite often. We hope that you have a fabulous day, Uncle Ben!

Big Shoes to Fill
